Engaged individually or as a complete scope. Most projects start with the first two.

Technology screening

An honest comparison of the three platforms against your duty, including the reasons to reject the ones we do not recommend. Delivered as a short technical note with indicative footprint, chemical demand and sludge production.

Treatability testing

Jar testing on your water to establish coagulant type and dose, polymer selection, pH window, achievable settling rate and sludge behaviour. Pilot trials where the water is unusual or the guarantee is tight.

Process design

Reactor volumes and mixing energy, plate area and geometry, recirculation and ballast inventory, dosing rates, sludge balance and the hydraulic profile through the whole train.

Equipment supply

Mixers and drives, lamella modules, scrapers, hydrocyclones or magnetic recovery, pumps, dosing systems, instrumentation and the control panel — supplied loose for a civil contractor or pre-assembled for smaller duties.

Packaged systems

Complete skid-mounted or containerised units, factory assembled and tested, for duties up to roughly 2,500 m³/h. Shortest route from order to operating plant where civil works are undesirable.

Retrofit and uprating

Assessment of existing tankage against a new duty, and conversion of conventional clarifiers to high-rate operation. Often the lowest-cost route to added capacity where the tanks are sound.

Controls and automation

PLC and HMI, flow-paced and feedback dosing, automated start and stop sequences, wet-weather triggers, alarm handling and remote monitoring where the site supports it.

Commissioning and training

Start-up, performance demonstration against the agreed basis, operator training on the process rather than only the buttons, and written operating procedures.

Spares and service

A spares schedule that identifies the wear parts and their expected life at the time of supply, not after the first failure. Process support for operators after handover.

How we scope a supply

Most treatment equipment disputes come from the boundary, not the machinery — who supplies the interconnecting pipework, who provides the chemical storage, whose scope the civil works are. We set that boundary out in writing at offer stage.

  • Process design and performance basis
  • Mechanical equipment, internals and lamella modules
  • Ballast handling and recovery equipment, where applicable
  • Dosing systems and chemical metering
  • Instrumentation, control panel and software
  • Installation supervision, commissioning and training
  • Operating and maintenance documentation, spares schedule

Normally by others

  • Civil and structural works, tanks and foundations
  • Interconnecting pipework outside the equipment boundary
  • Chemical bulk storage and bunding
  • Power supply to the panel and site earthing
  • Cranage, unloading and site access

This is the usual split. It is adjusted to suit the project, and whatever is agreed appears in the offer as a scope-of-supply schedule.

We will tell you when it does not fit

High-rate clarification is not the answer to everything. It does not remove dissolved constituents that do not coagulate, it does not replace biological treatment, and on some waters the chemical dose required makes it uneconomic against an alternative. Where that is the case we would rather say so at screening stage than discover it during commissioning.

Testing before commitment

Jar testing is inexpensive relative to the cost of a wrong design basis. We recommend it on every project and insist on it where the effluent guarantee is tight, the water is unusual, or several process streams combine before the treatment point.

What the offer contains

A design basis, a process description, a scope-of-supply schedule with the boundary stated, a general arrangement, chemical and power consumption figures, sludge production, a spares list with expected wear-part life, and the performance we are prepared to guarantee against that basis.
