What we do

Kruger Water Solutions LLC supplies intensified solid–liquid separation systems for municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment: high-rate clarification, microsand ballasted flocculation and magnetite ballasted separation.

These are compact processes that do in minutes, and in a fraction of the space, what conventional sedimentation needs hours and a large tank to achieve. They matter most where the site cannot grow, where a consent has tightened, or where storm flow has outrun the works — which is an increasing share of the water industry’s problems.

Our work runs from process selection and treatability testing through process design, equipment supply, installation and commissioning, to operator training and long-term process support. We supply equipment for contractor-built structures and complete packaged systems, and we retrofit existing tankage where that is the better answer.

How we work

Evidence before design. Coagulation behaviour is specific to the water. Rather than size from a table, we jar test, and we pilot where the guarantee is tight or the water is unusual. The cost of that testing is small against the cost of a design basis that turns out to be wrong.

The argument before the quotation. Our first deliverable is normally a technology screening note: which of the three platforms we would propose, at what rate, on what evidence, and why we would rule out the other two. If none of them suits the duty, that is what the note says.

Whole-life, not just capital. Chemical demand, sludge volume and concentration, ballast make-up, power and wear-part life all appear in the offer. Two schemes with the same capital cost can differ substantially over ten years, and the difference is usually in the sludge.

The boundary in writing. Most disputes on treatment equipment projects come from an unclear scope boundary, not from the machinery. Ours is set out as a schedule in the offer, and what falls to others is stated as plainly as what falls to us.

Who we work with

Municipal utilities and their consulting engineers, industrial plant operators, EPC and design-build contractors, and equipment integrators who need a process package inside a larger scheme. We are comfortable working as a subcontracted process supplier within someone else’s main contract, and equally comfortable dealing directly with an end user who wants the whole thing handled.

Four things a supplier does not always volunteer.

When another process is better

Dissolved species that do not coagulate, soluble organics, ammonia and nitrate need something else. We will say so rather than sell a clarifier that cannot address them.

What the chemicals will cost

Coagulant demand is the largest single operating cost on most of these plants and it is water-specific. It is stated in the offer as a rate, against a stated feed.

Which parts wear out

Ballasted loops carry an abrasive slurry. The wear parts and their expected life are listed at supply, so the maintenance budget is known before the plant is running.

Where the guarantee ends

Guarantees are given against a defined feed envelope and a defined dose. Outside that envelope the plant will still run, but the guaranteed figure no longer applies — and that is written down.
